The Power and Energy Working Group (PEWG) was established in 2011 under the Vietnam Business Forum (VBF) as a platform to facilitate policy dialogues between the relevant Government authorities in Vietnam and the private sector, towards the sustainable development of the energy sector in Vietnam.
PEWG membership consists of a diverse group of energy developers, investors, users, consulting firms, and international development agencies. We work closely with the Government to create pathways to support the achievement of transformation in the energy sector. Becoming a PEWG member brings in opportunities to get involved in the WG’s activities.
A company / organization / individual could sign up to become a PEWG member if you are:
A current member of the VBF Consortium Members (AmCham, EuroCham, BritCham, KoCham, JCCI, VCCI) or of the VBF Associate Members (AusCham, CanCham, InCham, ThaiCham, HKBAV, SCCV, SBA, CTCVN, VAFIE), OR
From an international development organization or diplomatic missions or NGOs who are working on international economic cooperation and aligning with the goals of the VBF.
PEWG received funding from the European Climate Fund to support its activities from 2019 to early 2021. A Steering Committee, comprising representatives from various business communities, has been established to oversee work plans and outputs, and to represent the collective voice of the private sector to the Vietnamese government. PEWG collaborates closely with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Central Party, and other key organizations and offices.
